Police investigating multiple collisions near Homer Watson

Regional police are continuing to investigate multiple collisions in the Homer Watson Boulevard area of Kitchener that took place early Saturday morning.

According to police the first incident occurred just after 12 a.m. in the area of Homer Watson Boulevard and Pioneer Drive.

Police said a driver failed to remain after colliding with a 31-year-old pedestrian who was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours Saturday as police investigated, however the roads have reopened.

While the roads were closed, the driver of a SUV drove through the road closure around 2 a.m. and hit a parked police vehicle.

The driver of the SUV, a 27-year-old Ingersoll man, was arrested and is facing impaired driving charges.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No police officers were hurt as a result of the crash.
