Push-pin found in piece of Kitchener Halloween haul

Some scares on Halloween are real: Regional Police say a pin was discovered in trick or treat candy from a Kitchener neighbourhood.

Police were notified Thursday about a push-pin found in a chocolate bar that a child had gathered up on Halloween night from either Rittenhouse Road or Erinbrook Drive.

That’s near Fischer-Hallman Road and Westmount Road East.

Police say the wrapping to the bar had been opened and taped shut, and a small pin with a blue knob on the end was inside.

No one was hurt.

Police remind all parents and caregivers to always inspect all the candy their children bring home from trick or treating, and throw out anything that looks tampered with.
