By CityNews Kitchener Staff

One man is dead after a shooting in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener on Wednesday morning.

Police are reporting that the incident happened around 2 a.m.

They found a man in his mid-twenties with injuries he suffered from the shooting. He was then taken to an out-of-region hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Multiple police cruisers were set up in the McDonald’s parking lot at Ottawa Street North and River Road East.

Police tape surrounded a white SUV in that parking lot, and it is not known how long they will be on scene.

Police told CityNews 570 that businesses in the area may be impacted by the investigation.

No arrests have been made, and no suspect descriptions have been released. WRPS’ major crime unit is continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information or video is asked to contact police.
