Man dies after stabbing in Uptown Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a homicide in Uptown Waterloo

It was on Friday morning at 2:35 a.m. when officers responded to the area of King Street North and Bridgeport Road for reports of a stabbing.

A 20-year-old man with stab wounds was located by officers shortly after arrival.

That victim was taken to local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

One individual was taken into custody shortly after the incident, though they have since been released.

Investigators continue to search for a suspect in connection to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing with members of the Major Crime Unit, General Investigation Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.

You can expect an increased police presence in the area of King Street North and Bridgeport as officers conduct a canvass of the neighbourhood.
