Arrest made in connection with allegations against former school administrator in Kitchener

By News Staff

Allegations involving a former school administrator in Kitchener have now led to an arrest.

Waterloo Regional Police got a report in April that a student at Saint John Paul II Catholic Elementary School received inappropriate messages.

That prompted an investigation which brought another allegation to light about an assault that took place between September of 2021 and June of 2022.

Through a joint effort involving police and Family and Children Services of Waterloo Region, a male suspect was arrested on May 3.

The 58-year-old man from Kitchener has been charged with assault and will appear in court on June 19. The accused has not been identified further.

CityNews 570 sent a request to the Waterloo Catholic District School Board for comment and received a response from a spokesperson that read, “As always, whenever a case involving students or staff is before the courts the WCDSB is not able to provide any comment or information.”

Police are asking anyone with further information on the investigation to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
