Tentative agreement reached between region, UNIFOR 4304

The Region of Waterloo announced Saturday that it has reached a tentative agreement with UNIFOR local 4304.

The union represents Grand River Transit, busPLUS, MobilityPLUS operators, reservationists, fleet mechaniccs and service attendants.

Despite the tentative agreement, the union remains in a legal strike position as early as Monday.

The region stated in a news release that it remains optimistic that transit service will remain uninterrupted. The region is still reminding those who rely on public transit to have alternate plans in place in the event of a disruption.

Ratification of the deal still needs to take place.
