CHYM Tree of Hope 50/50 raises $196,520

The Tree of Hope 50/50 presented by CHYM has raised $196,520 in support of Family & Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region Foundation.
Kevin Hergott was the winner of the 50/50 draw winning $98,260. The announcement was made Friday morning on Brady & Tara in the morning. He had winning ticket number 99002655129.
“I don't know what to say,” said Hergott, “thank you, thank you, thank you very much. Oh my goodness, that's quite incredible. What I'd like to do with half of that is give it back to children's services.”
That works out to be a donation of $49,130.
“You guys did a great job and that's the least I can do,” he said, “hopefully that will help make a Merry Christmas for a lot of people who need it. Even half of that is unbelieveable (…) I don't know what to say.”
Hergott asked if he was live on the radio while the announcement was made.
“You're live on the radio right now,” said Brady, “you're live on the radio, Kevin and you just created amazing radio so thank you for that!”
This is the 30th year for the annual CHYM FM charity drive.
