Grand River Hospital looking to improve x-ray imaging with new tech

By Christine Clark

Some new innovative tech is coming to Grand River Hospital.

Looking to improve x-ray imaging, the Kitchener hospital has partnered with K-A Imaging, installing the company's latest device — Reveal 35-C — on one of GRH's portable x-ray machines.

The device, produces three unique higher-resolution images at no extra time and no extra exposure.

Older versions of x-ray technology are very limited, requiring dedicated rooms, more radiation and can have image quality issues.

The hope is the new tech will lead to improved patient monitoring and faster, more accurate diagnosing, especially during a time when our local hospital, like many others across the province, is overwhelmed in emergency rooms and ICUs.
