List of local candidates running in municipal election

Municipal election day is Monday, October 24.

The nomination deadline was 2 p.m. on August 19. All nominations were certified by area clerks on Monday.

There are three candidates for Regional Chair — Brendon John Da Costa, Karen Redman (incumbent) and Narine Dat Sookram.

A list of mayoral candidates in the cities and townships is posted below:
 

Kitchener

There are five candidates running for mayor — Rehman-Ullah Khan, Manikantan Nair, Val Neekman, Milos Sokollu and Berry Vrbanovic (incumbent).

Waterloo

Current mayor Dave Jaworsky decided not to run for re-election. There are four candidates this time around — Shannon Weber, Dorothy McCabe, Kypp Saunders and Rob Evans.

Cambridge

There are four candidates running for mayor — Kathryn McGarry (incumbent), Jan Liggett, Randy Carter and Cody Botelho.

Wilmot Township

Jenn Pfenning and Natasha Salonen are the two candidates for mayor. Current mayor Les Armstrong is not seeking re-election.

Woolwich Township

Patrick Merlihan and Sandy Shantz (incumbent) are both running for mayor.
