Kitchener man pleads guilty to threatening Justin Trudeau

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

A Kitchener man has pleaded guilty to threatening Justin Trudeau.

It stems from an incident at a campaign stop in Cambridge last summer, that saw a large crowd of protesters in attendance.

Waterloo Regional Police then announced in September that a 32-year-old Kitchener man was charged with two counts of uttering threats.

A media release at the time said, “After viewing video of the event, speaking to witnesses, and receiving information provided by the RCMP, Waterloo Regional Police launched an investigation.”

A spokesperson with the Ministry of the Attorney General confirmed a man pleaded guilty in Kitchener court on Thursday.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 20.
