Waterloo Regional Police have provided an update on the murder investigation of Joshua Bennett.

Police say a post-mortem examination determined the cause of death was the result of multiple stab wounds.

The 18-year-old was found near a trail in the area of Paulander Drive, early Friday morning.

Bennett, who's from Etobicoke, was enrolled in the Carpentry and Renovation Technician program at Conestoga College. He began his studies last fall.

“Our thoughts are with Joshua’s family and friends, his classmates and teachers, and all who knew him.” Conestoga president John Tibbits, said in a statement, issued over the weekend.

Police are once again asking for the public's help in identifying those responsible for Bennett's death.

Waterloo Region Police's Major Crime Unit tip-line is 519-570-9777 ext. 8191.

Anonymous tips can also be left by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (or online www.waterloocrimestoppers.com).
