Arrests have been made after a man brandishing a firearm tried to rob the Amazon fulfilment centre in Cambridge.
Waterloo regional police say it happened around 10:40, Sunday morning, at the site at Maple Grove Road and Cherry Blossom Road.
Police posted a warning soon after 12:00 for the public to avoid that area while officers searched for a person who might have a firearm. They allege a man came in to a business at that intersection and tried to steal items, and brandished a firearm at the staff.
He then fled the scene in a vehicle waiting outside. No one was hurt in the incident.
Police have since confirmed to 570 NewsRadio it was in fact the Amazon site that was hit.
Officers found the suspect nearby, and seized a replica firearm.
Police say a 27-year-old man from Cambridge and a 23-year-old man from Kitchener were arrested.
The charges have not been released yet, while the two suspects wait for their bail hearings.
The Amazon site is located at the same intersection as Regional Police headquarters.
