Guelph man arrested in connection with human trafficking investigation: WRPS

By Erin Anderson

An arrest has been made following an investigation by the joint human trafficking team involving both Waterloo Regional Police and Guelph Police.

Officials said the investigation started earlier this month after allegations a man obtained and financially benefited from sexual services from a victim.

A 20-year-old Guelph man has been charged with several offences including sexual assault, trafficking in persons, and advertising sexual services.

Police said the Human Trafficking Crisis Intervention program provided a safety plan and community resources to the victim.

Their investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information can contact police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
