K-W Multicultural Festival to happen virtually again

For a second straight summer, the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Festival will happen online. The official announcement was made Wednesday morning.
Organizers say even if provincial orders were eased prior to the end of June, it would not give them and the participants enough time to organize a festival for this year.
Instead, videos will be posted to the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre's YouTube channel, ending with a one hour special on Saturday, June 26 at 7 p.m.
“Last year we had our very first online Festival,” Lucia Harrison, CEO of the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre, said in a release, “and it allowed people to interact with some of our artisans, enjoy story-telling, participate in hands-on activities, and engage with local performers on YouTube. This year we're doing even more online. Stay tuned for more information.”
