Sunwing returning to Waterloo Region this winter

Another sign of a return to normalcy, as Sunwing will soon be flying out of the region's airport again.

The airline has announced flights will run from the Region of Waterloo International Airport to Cancun, Mexico every Monday, beginning December 13, and until April 18, 2022.

Some flight packages will be available to book as early as the end of this month.

“After over a year on the ground, we're looking forward to welcoming Sunwing back to Region of Waterloo International Airport and appreciate their continued support of the region,” Chris Wood, the general manager of the region's airport, said in a release.

“The weekly service from Waterloo to Cancun was extremely popular during the 2019-2020 season, and we’re confident that our community will appreciate being able to travel to the tropics from their local airport this winter.”
