Walmart closing Stanley Park store

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

The Walmart in Kitchener's Stanley Park Mall is closing.

The company also plans to close five other stores across the country.

In an email to 570 NEWS, Walmart says all employees will be offered positions at nearby locations, of which there are seven.

Meantime, the company is spending $16 million to convert the location at CF Fairview Park in Kitchener into a supercentre.

The upgrades this year are part of the retailer’s planned $3.5-billion investment to improve online and in-store shopping over the next five years.
