Region reports 95 new COVID cases, and another outbreak

Region of Waterloo Public Health reported 95 new COVID-19 cases on its dashboard Sunday afternoon.

This brings the new total up to 8,298 cases for the region since March.

There were 79 cases today, while alterations were made to previous counts.

The number of active cases has decreased to 959 from 1,021 since Saturday.

Here are some other updates from the Region's COVID summary dashboard on Sunday:

• 7,152 resolved cases (86 per cent).
• There have been 181 deaths in the region linked to the virus. The latest was confirmed on January 16.
• 42 cases are currently hospitalized (19 in ICU).
