Rogers expands Pro On-the-Go to Waterloo Region

By Brandon Graziano

If you're in need of a new phone or have issues with your current one during COVID-19, Rogers is offering a new service.

It's called Pro on-the-go and it's being expanded to Southern Ontario which includes Waterloo Region and Guelph.

Essentially, it's a Rogers store, that comes to your door.

Brent Johnston, President of Wireless at Rogers says it's a mix of services bundled into one.

“Think about the great in-store experience of an Apple store, combined with the logistics and inventory management of Amazon and the timing and on-demand nature of Uber.”

Johnston says due to COVID-19, for the in-the-home portion of the sale, a Pro will help you out remotely over the phone or over video.

“With COVID-19 we've adapted our processes, so that the Pro on-the-go professional is helping the customer enjoy their new phone remotely.

The service is free. Johnston equates it like going into a Roger store, which you wouldn't be charged for walking into one.

He says he believes that customers who want to use a full and necessary service like wireless, that should be an experience to help you get set up.

“It is more important than ever that we bring our customers the wireless devices and services they need in a way that's safe, convenient and personalized for them.”
