Man released from jail by mistake arrested (update)

Police in Halton are asking for your help in tracking down a man who was released from Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton by mistake.

They say Lee Madore, 37, could be in the Kitchener area.

He was released from the jail on Tuesday, April 14, due to what police call a “clerical error” by correctional staff.

A warrant is out for Madore, with police adding he's considered dangerous and should not be approached.

He is white, 5'10″, 160 pounds with brown hair and a reddish beard.

Madore was sentenced to 17 months in jail for offences including fraud, theft, break and enter, and assaulting a peace officer.

Anyone who comes into contact with Madore or can provide information in regards to his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Mark Brewster of Halton Regional Police at 905-825-4747 ext. 2420.
