Cambridge names new City Manager

The City of Cambridge are bringing in a familiar face to take over as City Manager.
They have named David Calder to the post, and he is scheduled to begin on September 16.
Calder is currently the Chief Administrative Officer in Tillsonburg, and was once the Director of Public Access and Council Services/City Clerk in Cambridge.
He's also worked with cities and towns such as Waterloo, Anderdon, Woodstock, the former City of York and the Region of Peel.
“It is a great privilege to return to the City of Cambridge in this role,” Calder said in a release, “I am excited to work with Council, staff, and other community stakeholders. Cambridge is such a beautiful and progressive community and it is filled with opportunity.”
“After an extensive search with a range of excellent candidates, I am thrilled that David will be joining our team,” added Cambridge Mayor Kathryn McGarry, “He has deep ties to this region, has vast experience in the municipal sector, and a leadership style that will be warmly welcomed by staff and the broader community. I know he is the right person to help guide our City as we start on an exciting new chapter.”
Calder is replacing Gary Dyke, who left the job in February to become the Commissioner of Corporate and Emergency Services in Kingston.
Jeff Willmer has been serving as Interim City Manager since then.
