Rangers supporting Green Shirt Day in honour of Humboldt victim

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

You may notice a lot of attention on social media today, including from the Kitchener Rangers, focussing on Green Shirt Day.

Today marks exactly one year since Logan Boulet succumbed to his injuries in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash. Boulet had recently signed up to be an organ donor, so his parents honoured those wishes.

The news of Boulet's organ donation spread very quickly and over 100,000 people were inspired to become registered organ donors, making this the largest number of Canadians registering to become organ donors in history due to one person.

This quickly became known as the Logan Boulet effect.

Today you can wear green in honour of the Humboldt bus crash victims and the generosity of Logan Boulet.
