What a difference a month makes.
The University of Waterloo Weather Station has released its monthly summary for May and it shows the average temperature was 4.5 degrees above normal.
That contrasts with April, when it was 4 degrees below normal.
In fact, it was the hottest May since record keeping began in 1915.
The old record was in 1991, and we beat that mark by close to a full degree.
Three days last month were above 30 degrees and we only experienced 4 days that were colder than average.
In terms of rainfall, we were slightly above normal.
Just over 88 millimetres of precipitation was recorded.
An average May would see about 82 millimetres.
