One of Drayton Entertainment’s productions is making its way to the big stage in Toronto.
The story of an iconic moment in music history, when Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley came together for the first and only time, will hit Mirvish’s Panasonic Theatre this winter.
Alex Mustakas, Artistic Director, gave the Jennifer Campbell Show a taste of what crowds can expect from ‘Million Dollar Quartet.’
“Sam Phillips who owned the studio, at one point had started to press record when they were jamming, and he didn’t release these recordings until the 1980’s. But it’s not just about these guys, it’s really about the history of the recording industry at that time,” explains Artistic Director, Alex Mustakas.
He also adds that it’s thrilling to have one of their shows hit the GTA market.
“It’s actually the same performers that you see in Toronto, the Mirvish Productions, or in the west-end, or in New York. These are the kind of artists that we employ, and grace our stages with the same creative teams and so on, so it’s nice to get some attention in the GTA market.”
The musical has already played sold out shows here in Cambridge, and will roll out to the big city December 12, 2017.
