Environment Canada confirms they are investigating tornado sightings in the Lucan and Drumbo areas north of London, during Wednesday night’s thunderstorms.
Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson tells 570 NEWS investigators were sent out to both areas on Thursday, and have confirmed a tornado occurred just north of Lucan.
“Damage survey teams went out today. They managed to confirm that an enhanced Fujita scale 0 tornado touched down north of Lucan. It had peak winds of up to 130 km/h, and was about 5 km long and 170 m wide.”
Coulson says their investigation is ongoing, and crews remain on scene in Drumbo, to determine if a tornado touched down there as well.
