There were ideal conditions again at Whistle Bear on Friday and players took full advantage in Round 2 of the Manulife LPGA Classic.
Hamilton’s Alena Sharp grabbed a share of the lead late in the day. She is 12-under heading into the weekend after a 6-under 66.
Sharp says she went for a run in the morning to shake out the nervous energy and had “good vibes” heading into Round 2.
The only blemish on her scorecard, a double bogey on the par-5 3rd hole. She was issued a one stroke penalty for grounding her club.
Sharp shares the lead with American Lexi Thompson and Korean Hyo Joo Kim.
France’s Perrine Delacour fired a 10-under 62, a course record. She says the secret in Round 2 was putting. “Yesterday I hit like 17 greens, I couldn’t make any putts,”
Delacour only needed to make 27 putts and hit all 18 greens in regulation.

She is 11-under along with Lindy Duncan and In Gee Chun.
Fan favourite Brooke Henderson made the cut with a 5-under 67. She is 6-under for the tournament.
“Today I was able to get a few tap-in birdies that were only at three or four feet, and that gave me a lot of confidence. I felt like I could make any putt out there.” said Henderson.
Canadian Brittany Marchand was the only other Canadian to make the cut at 7-under.
Round 3 begins just after 7 a.m. on Saturday. You can follow the leaderboard here.
