Farwell debuts new show; lets the region know he’s there for them

Now that the ‘Farwell for Hire’ campaign has wrapped up, Mike Farwell can give you his undivided attention weekdays from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.
Farwell says he isn’t afraid to ruffle feather, in fact he says, “Bring it, let’s go.”
“Every single person we elect assures us there will be accountability and transparency and I’m here to tell you, you have let us down on those two counts, so do not come on this show unless your record actually backs it up,” he says.
Farewell’s main focus of his show will be local issues that matter to you and the region.
“There are certain issues that are very important to me that I think are very important to this community that I will get into, but I truly do want to hear from you about what it is you expect from this radio station, it’s yours and it belongs in your community,” he says.
He’s also not afraid to talk about topics within the community that have an effect on you.
“Why is it that in this community that you have to call one level of government because your garbage wasn’t picked up but a different level of government because your street wasn’t plowed,” he says.
He also wants to hit on issues from around the world that impact our region and he’s not afraid to ask tough questions.
His first guest today was Sociology professor from Wilfrid Laurier, Jasmin Zine, who specializes in Religious Extremism.
He asked Zeen, “How do you rationalize these sorts of actions that we’ve seen in London and as you’ve referenced the other parts of the world, and how do you frame it and put it in perspective for people in your circle?”
It’s clear Farwell showed up to work today and let the region know he’s in this for them for a long time.
