Cambridge Turbos win third straight National Ringette Championship

You can go ahead and call them a dynasty. The Cambridge Turbos have won their third straight ringette national championship.

The Turbos beat the Atlantic Attack 6-5 in come from behind fashion to take the NRL crown.

They were forced to come from behind twice to get the narrow victory.

According to 6 year veteran, and assistant Capitan Sydney Granger, this year is a bit sweeter because it was a more difficult journey.

The Turbos won a total of 11 games by shootout, far more than any previous year.

They also had had coaching changes to contend with and the Turbos lost their Capitan in December when she announced to the team that she was pregnant.

Granger says she is very proud of how her team responded. “Being the third straight win was obviously incredible, it was more rewarding this win just with all the changes we faced this season with the coaching staff and losing our Capitan, seeing some of our players step up made the win even more satisfying.”

Granger says the team should be strong once again next year and there is no reason they can’t make it a fourth straight championship.

The future is bright for the Turbos organization, the Under 16 Cambridge Turbos took home the silver in their national championship tournament.
