Cambridge goes with cheapest option for bridge in Galt

Cambridge city council has selected the cheapest option for a new pedestrian bridge to span the Grand River in downtown Galt.

The Record reports council was faced with four design options and opted for a basic steel bridge that came in $400,000 over budget.

The entire project is estimated to cost $2-million. The most expensive option would have come in at $3-million.

Construction is expected start later this spring.
