Guelph fire crews battling two seperate structure fires

Wellington OPP have now re-opened Highway 7 in both directions from Wellington Road 32 to Woolwich-Guelph Townline after an early morning fire at an abandoned home with a barn. The barn has no animals inside.
At the same time, crews are also on scene battling a blaze at Township Road 3 between Highway 7 and Wellington Road 30. That fire has engulfed an abandoned building. OPP have re-opened Township Road 3 between Highway 7 and Wellington Road 30. However, Township Road 3 remains closed.
Guelph Deputy Fire Chief Dave Elloway tells 570 News the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate both fires. “Due to the proximity and the timing of these two fires, as well as the nature of the fires being both at abandoned buildings, we are treating them as suspicious.”
Police say they believe two people were involved, they are also asking for information about a vehicle seen speeding northbound on Township Road 3 at the time of the fires.

There’s no word yet on the extent of the damage or the cause.
