Amber Alert in Orillia cancelled; child found safe

Ontario Provincial Police have cancelled an amber alert for a child.

The boy was believed to have been abducted in Orilla on Sunday night.

The alert was called off shortly before 11 p.m.

Police say a man and a child were seen at the intersection of West Street South and Bond Street in Oriilla just before 6 p.m.

Following what police describe as an “interaction”, the child was taken into what they describe as a newer model Toyota Sequoia SUV, silver in colour.
