A dangerous chase in Kitchener lands one man in custody

Police were forced to try and stop a stolen white SUV on Thursday.

Staff Sergeant Mike Haffner says they had information the driver may have had a gun and they drew their firearms as a result.

The man drove towards one of the officers, but the vehicle got stuck on a concrete parking block.

One of the officers shot his gun to try and disable the vehicle. The SUV took off but broke down nearby and the man ran away.

Police were able to find the man inside a building, and have arrested him.

No word yet on any charges. There were no injuries.
