Waterloo Regional Police have some advice to keep you safe on the roads when winter weather hits.
Staff Sergeant Jim Strand says it is a good idea to pack an emergency kit and leave it in your vehicle that includes a blanket.
“Blanket, flares, some source of water, any device that could draw attention to you on the side of the road to get you help quicker.”
Strand says to also urges drivers to inform someone of your route before you head out the door and to drive slowly and defensively to avoid a collision.
