Rangers edge Knights to end losing streak

The Kitchener Rangers got just what they wanted following the holiday break, a 3-2 win over London at The Aud on Tuesday night.
The victory also snapped Kitchener’s three game losing skid.
Dawson Carty stopped 26 of 28 shots in the Rangers net. He was out almost two months (missed 18 games) with an ankle injury.
Kitchener jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first on goals by Adam Mascherin and Gustaf Franzen. Doug Blaisdell then potted his first of the season in the second to give the Rangers a 3-0 advantage.
The Knights then got it close with goals by Owen MacDonald and Jack Hidi. Kitchener was also able to shutdown London’s power play as the Knights went 0 for 7.
Rangers Head Coach Mike Van Ryn admitted on the 570 News post game show that Carty was only playing at about
75-per cent, saying he wanted to play and help the team get going again.
He adds Carty played extremely well.
“For the most part, it was a real good junior hockey win for us.”
