Forget about raking the leaves, group says

Here’s an item you can take off your to-do list: raking the leaves.

The National Wildlife Foundation in the U-S is asking people to leave the leaves, saying the dry, dead foliage makes important habitats for critters including butterflies, salamanders, chipmunks, turtles, shrews, and earthworms.

Some of these creatures actually live in the leaves, while others lay eggs in them or eat them.
