Cheering loud doesn’t affect outcome of game, study says

Don’t bother cheering for your team; it won’t help them win.

A study carried out at four hockey rinks by the University of Nebraska found no direct correlation between decibel levels and goals scored.

In surveys given to the players after each match, the majority reported that the crowd was loud but not distracting, and noise levels didn’t prevent them from communicating with their teammates or coach while in play.
