Third Kitchener kindergarten student dropped off at wrong bus stop

Another Kitchener kindergarten student has been dropped off at the wrong stop.

A week ago, in separate incidents, two four-year-old Kitchener boys were let off the school bus at the wrong location.

The Record reports a third kindergarten student, a three-year-old girl, was dropped off at the wrong stop on Monday.

In each case, the bus drivers did not follow new rules, put in place in August, that stipulates a kindergarten student must remain on the bus until a caregiver asks for the child by name.

Benoit Borgault, the Region’s General Manager of Student Transportation Services told 570 News this week that steps have been taken to make sure such incidents do not happen again.

Kindergarten students carry name tags showing their school and phone number and other information, but Borgault says in one of the incidents last Friday, the child was not wearing a name tag.
