Princess Cinemas celebrates 30th anniversary

Waterloo Region’s Princess Cinemas is celebrating their 30th anniversary today.

The art-house cinema on Princess Street in Waterloo showcases anything from popular films, to new documentaries, to foreign language films, or Canadian cinema.

Owner of Princess Cinemas, John Tutt, explains what you can expect coming to his theatre for the first time.

“We offer something completely different than the chain cinemas. There’s no big bells and whistles, no video arcades or high prices at the snack bar. We also offer a wide variety of films.”

The cinema will be treating members to a free screening of the 1958 film Vertigo tonight. The film was chosen in 2012 as the top film of all time by the British Film Institute.
