The rare Charitable Research Reserve in Cambridge is buzzing after getting the news that their latest bee project will receive financial assistance.
The Grand River Conservation Authority and Foundation are teaming up to grand $500 towards the reserve’s project, which will go towards establishing honeybee hives and purchasing equipment for beekeepers.
The grant is one of 14 awarded this year by the GRCA and GRCF as part of its Community Conservation Grants program.
Each year, they present grants to community groups that are undertaking environmental projects in the Grand River watershed.
Grants are also awarded to schools undertaking schoolyard naturalization projects.
