11:00 – Peter Hamilton, saved woman in Toronto
A Toronto man is being hailed as a hero – It was Easter Sunday, around 9:30 AM, when Peter Hamilton took his dog for a walk. He was walking through his Dundas and Leslie street neighbourhood when he heard a woman calling out for help. He says what he saw next shocked him: a woman, lying on the porch with her hands and feet bound with duct tape and handcuffs. She was covered in bruises, shaking, as she lay with her pants and underwear down around her ankles. She told him she’d been kidnapped for five days – and that her captor was still inside with a gun and a knife. Hamilton didn’t have his cell with him…and began freeing her from the restraints – with nail clippers he had in his pocket. What happens next is like something out of a movie…the captor emerged and he prepared himself for a confrontation – but the man jumped over the woman and ran past them. He joins us now to share his harrowing story.
