The Sugar Kings have won the GOJHL’s Midwest for a seventh time.
Ethan Skinner had a hat-trick in Elmira’s 5-1 win over Stratford in Game 5 on Wednesday night, meaning the Sugar Kings got to raise the Cherrey Cup.
Adam Brubacher also chipped in with a pair of assists.
More than 1,500 fans took in the game at the Dan Snyder Memorial Arena.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling and so happy to be part of this team.” Elmira defenceman and Kitchener Rangers prospect, Connor Hall said after the game.
The Sugar Kings, who finished first in the Midwest during the regular season, now head to the Sutherland Cup, a trophy they have won three times (2011, 2001 and 1997).
Caledonia is the only other team that has booked a spot so far, with Leamington one win away. There will also be a wild card team, which will likely be Stratford.
