The day is finally here…after years of planning and discussion – and the ensuing debate – construction of the region’s light rail transit project got underway this morning on two main roadways. King Street between Wellington and Union, and Charles street between Benton and Borden are expected to be closed for up to six months. The initial work will involve removing trees and other obstacles, as well as staging for traffic. A reminder, you can still access Grand River Hospital from King Street.  You can check out the full list of closures at 570 news dot com. Because of the construction – you may need to take a different route – just try and avoid the ‘worst road’ if you can!
