Regional Police investigating after finding human remains

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after finding human remains.

The remains were found at 10 Burn Place in Kitchener, near the intersection of Highland Road and Belmont Ave.

Police say homicide detectives are leading the investigation and looking into whether there’s a link to the disappearance of Kate Lynn Reid.

61-year-old Hugh Rayburn McColl from Kitchener has been arrested and is charged with second degree murder in relation to the presumed death of Reid.

Reid and McColl were former roommates.

A post mortem has been scheduled in Hamilton for early next week to confirm the identity.
