Sam Graci, Creator, Green Plus
There is now more winter behind us than in front – but it can still be hard to get motivated during this cold, snowy weather. Over 70 per cent of Canadians say that a lack of energy is interfering with our daily activities. Working long hours, committee meetings, and high stress levels can affect sleep…combine that with quick, on the go food choices and limited physical activity and you can start to feel pretty drained. Sam Graci joins us now to talk about how small things like staying hydrated, eating breaking and sticking to a routine can boost your energy and help you feel better.
12:30 – Vaccines for the Greater Good?
Andre Picard, Author, Globe and Mail – “Vaccines are for the Greater Good.”
An outbreak of the measles in the United States, and now four confirmed cases here in Canada are raising new questions about mandatory vaccinations. While Ontario says they do have a mandatory vaccination order in effect, some people can be exempt because of religious reasons. Health officials in Toronto worry that this could lead to a wider outbreak given the fact that in the US, the CDC has confirmed 102 people have the disease in 14 states. This has also renewed debate about parental rights to NOT immunize their children, despite scientific knowledge that vaccinations prevent diseases like the measles and other viruses. Frustrated with the situation, author with the Globe and Mail, Andre Picard wrote an article called “Vaccinations are for the Greater Good.”
