The airline has announced it is adding 18 per cent more seats on the Waterloo Region-Calgary route.

Airport officials credit a significant increase in passenger demand since WestJet first touched down here in 2007.

A grand total of 16,780 additional seats will be available this year thanks to more flights being added and the use of WestJet’s Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

WestJet’s Director of Network and Schedule Planning, John Weatherill says, “This increase in capacity between Kitchener-Waterloo and Calgary is a direct result of the strong support we’ve received from the Waterloo Region in particular. We’re extremely grateful for this support and look forward to welcoming even more guests from the Region on board a WestJet flight to Calgary this summer.”
