Waterloo’s Poje and partner Weaver win national ice dance title

Waterloo’s Andrew Poje and his partner Kaitlyn Weaver won their first Canadian title in ice dance at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships in Kingston on Saturday.

The pair won the gold medal with a final score of 187.88.

“Ever since we were little kids, we dreamed of being national champions…And to be the top of your country is an amazing thing.” said Poje.

“It means so much more than any other gold medal that we’ve won this year,” added Weaver.

The pair used to train at the Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club.
