Arts and technology come together with the help of a local startup. Palette is currently being used as part of an interactive art exhibit in Kitchener City Hall, in collaboration with the city’s artist-in-residence Dwight Storring. Titled Neighborhood Voices Interactive, the art exhibit allows users to choose and play projected documentaries of local Kitchener residences by using a series of buttons and knobs connected by magnetics, made my Palette. Palette’s technology can be used for a number of artistic and scientific applications, including music production, photography and videography. They gained more than 900 orders over a Kickstarter crowd funding campaign and another 100 from their website. This is the first phase of the art project, with more local stories being added in May along with a screening of the documentaries.
