10 am – Blackberry pay
It’s an incentive possibly worth $600 dollars. As part of a holiday promotion launching in December, Blackberry says they will give customers up to $400 dollars of trade-in value, depending on which model of iPhone they have. They’ll also give those who switch up to $200 on a prepaid credit card. Only North American users are eligible for the program, and they must order the phone through Amazon or Blackberry’s online store through February 13th.
10:30 – Cosby
Glenn Pelletier, 570 Morning News Anchor
A fundraiser is being planned in Kitchener in early January the same night Bill Cosby is scheduled to appear at the Centre in the Square. 570?s Mike Farwell is helping spearhead the fundraiser in support of sexual assault victims. CITS says they do take concerns about the Cosby allegations seriously, however, they have to honour legal responsibilities, and they would be on the hook for money owing Cosby and the promoter if they were to cancel the show. As of 9:30 this morning, the show is still listed on the Centre’s website – and is about 75 per cent full. Tickets range from 62-72 dollars. Glenn was alone with Bill Cosby in his dressing room for about half an hour before introducing him on stage at Centre In The Square about 15 years ago. When Cosby noticed Glenn wasn’t wearing socks, he decided (unbeknownst to him) to make him part of his act after he brought him on stage.
