Flood watches and warnings issued by GRCA

A flood watch has been issued for the Grand, Conestogo and Speed rivers.
The Grand River Conservation Authorities issued the watch in the wake of all the rain we received in addition to the melting snow.
Flood warnings are also in effect for the Conestogo River in St. Jacobs and the Nith River in New Hamburg and Ayr.
It says that has resulted in a sharp rise in river levels this morning.
It says, while no major flooding is expected at this point, low-lying areas could experience some flooding.
It also warns residents to stay clear of river banks because they could be very slick.
