Local legion branches running short on poppies

Due to high demand, two local legion branches are asking for more poppies ahead of remembrance day.
Every year the poppy campaign raises money to care for veterans, but this year, the deaths of two Canadian soldiers are prompting more people to get poppies.
“I believe that this year is a special year” says Bob Berg, Vice President of the Legion Branch 530. “Probably because of the events going on. I do believe that the people, and the public are becoming more aware of the need to remember.”
Berg adds that they’re hopefully going to get more before November 11th.
Last year the campaign brought in $14.5 million dollars for the legion. All the funds go to support veterans across Canada.
