Issues at Kitchener polling station

Not all voters are having an easy time casting their ballots today.
In an email sent to 570 News, one man complained about computer issues and a lack of forms at McKenzie King School in Kitchener. He claims around 50 voters were turned away due to these issues. The city confirms all those issues have since been fixed.
Heather Taylor also had her share of difficulties. She tells 570 News she was told by volunteers that she had to vote for school board trustees – something she was not comfortable doing, and is not legally required to do.
Voters can opt out of filling out any section on the ballot and only vote for the positions they feel comfortable voting for.
“Staff were giving out wrong information to the voters and that could skew things…I wasn’t very impressed.”
Taylor says she followed up by calling city staff.
“She was shocked and said she would follow up with somebody in hopes to go out to that polling station…I was just hoping that that wasn’t happening at other polling stations.”
Another frustrating part of her day? Parking. Taylor says she was forced to either wait in a long line of cars or park illegally in order to vote.She points out that many motorists turned around and left instead of waiting for a parking spot.
